Data world of HR Skills
Do you really need to come with new skills in HR ? I feel Yes, when you come to a new country with your skill sets, you have a great exposure but there are challenges everywhere….How? Different Work atmosphere, International colleagues, Challenging job, Rapid changes in IT and data world, coping up with your own Job in a different work environment and of course your personal issues and you always want to set everything right.
In the last few years the job market has changed drastically and now data is everywhere, so now the question is whether data is also into HR?….the answer is Yes……..a very new yet much heard role is “People Analytics”. Here you get a chance of having your own HR skills with a set of few other skills like basics of SQL, R-programming and other analytical skills. If you really want to excel in this field then you have to own these technical skills which will not only open your path for Hr but also for Data roles. You can really use these skills to scan, analyse report and present data and find useful insights. One of the HR example would be taking out employee Retention report which is crucial data, it can create as well as destroy the image of the company, more satisfied employees, longer years of working means improved retention rate. Also if you also speak any foreign language that would always be a plus. You can find the job descriptions with this name on LinkedIn.
So Data is everywhere, data enthusiasts are everywhere, they can see your virtual presence and even hear you, not directly but virtually….one of the example would be “Google Assistant” for android devices and “Siri” & “Alexa” for iOs devices. This is a great example, I observed it by my self….how do you get advertisements on your Facebook or Instagram account without your searching on google?….Google Assistant may be one of the reasons, which enables microphone when you say something. You just say something, the same day or the very next day, you could find pop up’s on your Facebook and Instagram accounts. It’s a kind of Social Marketing or Social Commerce, which can be considered as a future.
